Your poster is very creative. Young Adults are an audience that is often overlooked in libraries. I am glad to see you participating in the Teen reading program for Summer. What crafts and activities have you done? Which one seemed to capture the interest of the audience?
Thank you for the positive comment on the poster for the program. You are right, Young Adults are often overlooked, that is why I decided to give it a go. We just completed the porgram on Thursday, July 14th. We did not have a very big turnout, but if you get one that makes the whole program worth it. It will build from there.
Crafts: We made paper bead bracelets, father days cards, lace and bead bookmarks. Since we did not have a big turnout the crafts were fairly easy to work.Activities: We played Pirates of Plagerism (game on plagerism), Monolopy card game, Scrabble Slam (card game). I had planned to have jigsaw puzzle contest, but we did not have enough to show up to compete. Snacks: Popcorn and lemonade.
The had more fun playing the card games. We will see now next years goes.
All in all I enjoyed working with the teens and will do it again next year.
