UNT Rural Library Management Certificate orientation

Twenty-five new students will attend the orientation on Saturday, July 25 from 10 am - 2:00 pm at the UNT Discovery Park campus. Some of them will participate in Friday's UNT Orientation. These students will be awarded full scholarhip to study four courses at UNT Library and Information Science Department duing the 2015-2016 academic year: Library Partnership and Community Outreach, Electronc Information Services, Managing Automation Projects, and Topics in Rural Libraries.

Texas Libraries:

UNT Received Grant to Assist Rural Libraries

Denton (UNT), Texas -- The UNT Department of Library and Information Sciences has received a major grant from the Robert and Ruby Priddy Charitable Trust to assist rural public libraries in Texas.  Funding from the Priddy Trust in the amount of $1,599,222 will support a three-year project, Promoting & Enhancing the Advancement of Rural Libraries (PEARL).  The goal of the project is to enhance the role of public libraries in targeted rural communities in Texas.

PEARL Project Participants Finalist for National Award

Two participants from the UNT PEARL project were selected as finalist for Library Journal’s Best Small Library in America 2013 Finalists.
